The story of Happy Tears

Often when we buy a product it has been created by a large company looking to meet a customer need, they do research and invest money is development to make something that will generate sales and ultimately make money. Happy Tears is a little bit different – it was created by dog owner Sue Tostevin as a result of a long period of experimentation with different products and – finally – disappointment.

Sue adopted a white Maltipoo – who she called Miss Teddy many years ago. Miss Teddy is lucky enough to have found a loving home where she is treated as a true part of the family. Although tears are perfectly natural and not a harmful to a dog, the build up and constant flow of fluid on the fur creates the reddish, brown marks you often see around the eyes.

From a cosmetic point of view Sue wanted to alleviate these stains but actually over time she found that Miss Teddy was happier and better behaved when she was clean and well-groomed and her keeping the fur around her eyes clean of staining was a big part of that.

Sue tried a lot of different products from here in the UK and from all over the world – she either found that they were too harsh and contained too many chemicals for her to be comfortable using them around teddy’s eyes or they were highly ineffective at treating the stains- short or long term.

Therefore, Sue worked with a development team to create Happy Tears which is a two-step treatment for dealing with tear stains in a safe, effective way.
