Is there anything more adorable than a little bundle of curly/wooly woofer? We think not! Dogs with curly or wooly coats are incredibly popular and include breeds such as Poodles (including the mixed breeds such as the Labradoodles, Cockapoos and Maltipoos), Bichon Frise and Bolognese.

They’re all known for having thick, curly and volumous … something we all aspire to!

The most important thing with these dogs is that you look after them regularly, keeping them groomed to remove tangles from their fur, it could also benefit from regular trims as it can grow quickly (and continuously) so you need to keep on top of it!

These are our top tips for looking after this type of coat:

BRUSHING: Use a detangle comb to remove tangles from the fur followed by a slicker brush to promote a healthy shine.

WASHING: Use a product designed for curly hair and even a detangling spray post wash.

DRYING: Always use a towel to get rid of the bulk of the moisture then finish off with a dryer

If you do have one of these adorable curly breeds and they suffer from tear stains -such as a poodle or bichon frise – then you would benefit from using a comb such as the Tedster as well as the Happy Tears kit to ensure that you remove any built-up gunk before applying the treatment.

As ever, if you have any questions about how to apply Happy Tears or other staining problems that your dog has, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, we’d be happy to help.
